Update on....
Andrew Levkoff, author Living in Tempe, AZ (don't be jealous of our weather-we're going to die of thirst well before the next Ice Age). Spending my time these days writing historical fiction about ancient Rome. Too much fun! Two books out so far: The Other Alexander and A Mixture of Madness. A third novel, "Blood of Eagles" will be published by the end of the year. Best to all! www.andrewlevkoff.com
Paul Lester, attorney My wife Lois and I will celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary this July. Lois was my date at our 1967 Senior Prom. We have two married daughters, Erica age 36 and Shari age 33 (both of whom are lawyers and both born and brought up in Miami (where somehow I went to elementary school for 2 years before moving to Great Neck in 1957 to attend 2nd grade) and 3 grandchildren (Tyler 4 and Evan 2-Erica's children, and Maya 1 Shari's child). Erica lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, about 2 hours from Miami and Shari lives in Miami about 15 minutes from where Lois and I live. I continue to practice real estate, corporate, and banking commercial law in the transactional field now on a part time basis and have continuing interests in a number of real estate and other businesses. Lois is a retired 1st grade public school teacher and a retired Regional Director of the National Osteoporosis Foundation. I get to speak to Len Dugow regularly as his lawyer-small world indeed. I play trombone off and on in a 1940's "Big Band" (still have the trombone I played in the Band at GNS but moved up to a King model after college) but my wrestling career in essence ended after college-although I did participate (meaning wrestle) in the Maccabiah games when I was 32 -which is now "only" 32 years ago. Brooke Remmert (Lisa Cane), retired teacher Brooke Remmert, formerly Lisa Cane, retired from teaching 3rd grade in Colorado last May. My husband and I bought a 2nd home in Santa Fe, NM, and we divide our time between Colorado and Santa Fe. Moving to Santa Fe has been a long-time goal, and we love all that "The City Different" has to offer. We are adding lovely Spanish architectural details to our casita, and I am pursuing my art and creative interests; taking a printmaking class at the Santa Fe Community College, and I have joined a book arts group. Both of these endeavors are passions, and I finally have the time to devote to them. It's great to be meeting interesting, creative people. doors are opening and I am excited to be living a new chapter of my life. Greetings to all of my fellow classmates that might remember me. Debbie Yarett Slater, association executive and pianist Following college where I got a degree in French and spent time living/studying in France, I went to graduate school at Columbia University to get my master's degree in occupational therapy. I met my husband, Rich, at Columbia as he was getting his PhD in physical chemistry at the downtown campus while I was uptown at the medical school. We were married in l973 (just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary!) and lived/worked in Manhattan while Rich continued at Columbia in a post-doc until getting a job in Boston where we have lived since l976. After years in clinical practice and healthcare management, I have been working for my professional association, the American Occupational Therapy Association and run the ethics program, as well as providing support for governance groups and policy initiatives. I'm fortunate to be able to telecommute from my home as the "office" is in Bethesda, MD. We have 2 sons, Josh who is an architect in Boston and Gabe, an attorney in Washington DC. Now that we have an empty nest, I've been able to return to studying the piano as a serious amateur (after 30 years of not playing) and I'm loving it. I play at the Boston Symphony orchestra café, in piano groups, play in a chamber music trio and take a performance class with a concert pianist. I will be working for at least a few more years but my "retirement" plan is lots of music and I'm so fortunate as Boston is incredibly rich in opportunities to hear and play music. I have to say it's been so interesting reading the updates from our classmates- I always knew we were a very accomplished class but it's striking how interesting the careers and lives of our friends have been!
