If you haven't figured out already, I'm dogged when it comes to cleaning up our reunion files! I've mailed out 105 letters to classmates for whom I have inaccurate or nonexistent email addresses--and only 4 have been returned to date by the post master. I am hoping those classmates send me their current contact information ASAP!
There are still a few of you who haven't confirmed your current contact information. So if you are reading this and have not emailed me to say "everything is current" or provided an update, please do so as soon as you can.
Please check the lists to the right and let me know if you have contact information for any of our classmates.
Meanwhile, please enjoy the updates that I've received from fellow classmates, and keep on communicating!

Updates from:
Stuart Warmflash, playwright
His play, "Crush the Serpent" will be performed Sunday, March 2, 2014 in New York by Project Rushmore.
Ron Shey, retiree
I love being a grandfather: I'm a Poppy. I have the time now also to do a little consulting work, based upon my 35 years in book publishing and manufacturing. I moved after 28 years in Marlboro, NJ to an "active adult" community in Monroe Township, NJ. Still live in a semi rural area, within 1/2 hour of the shore. Plus: 15 minutes closer to visit with my children and grandchildren, who live closer to the city.
Transitioning to retirement requires patience; You identify yourself with your work, until there is no more working. Re-invent your goals in life.Re-thinking what leads to happiness & fulfillment. I choose to be involved with our community association on the finance committee. Play a little golf, and participate in photography club competitions.
Wayne Laise, retiree My wife, Marta, and I have been retired since 2010 and will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary this coming May. In 1973, as a Peace Corps Volunteer, I met Marta while hospitalized with the measles in San Jose, Costa Rica-- she was my nurse. I fell in love with Costa Rica and with Marta, as well, that year. We married the next year and spent the next 15 years in New York and then New Hampshire during which time I adopted her two young children from a previous marriage and she acquired U.S. citizenship and certification as a registered nurse. I taught Spanish for a few years (my major at Oswego State University), and then became involved in residential and industrial maintenance, taking advantage of my skills in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, mechanics and welding. After purchasing our first home on two acres in Costa Rica for $25,000 cash in 1989, we began to spend approximately 6 months of every year remodeling our home and the other six months working in New York (guess which six months!). In 1998 we sold that property and with the proceeds bought our current 18-acre property in the San Carlos region and began a new cycle of property improvement in Costa Rica & work in New York. After 20 years as a permanent resident, I acquired Costa Rican citizenship in 2010 and, like Marta, became a dual national. We supplement our Social Security with income from a rental property in Ciudad Quesada that we purchased in 2011 with funds from a family inheritance. Our two children and five grandchildren remain in New York and Tennessee.
Miles Rapoport, president, Common Cause Neal Gold, hospital CEO
I'm CEO of Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. We're a small rural hospital with 49 acute care beds, 25 behavioral health beds, and 4 rural health clinics. Kind of a 2nd career after 30 years in higher education.
Brian Predmest, auto dealer
I am still working like a dog but enjoying life to the best I can at the moment. I sell Mercedes Benz in Delray Beach and I am still playing golf as much as possible. Married to wonderful girl with three, count them 1-2-3, grand children. Never thought I would be called Grandpa by anybody and still let them walk away. I am sure that there is more but at the moment, who can remember.
The list of people that passed away is way too many and hard to accept. With that in mind, make sure you tell the rest of the class to enjoy their life and appreciate what they have now and what we had growing up. You just can't take away all the Great Memories that we had. They were goods for all. Its always good to see the people we grew up with that helped us form our lives.
Joy Arenstein Glucksman, travel agent
As far as retirement goes--my husband retired at 50 and is back at work full time. I am doing what I always have and loved for the past 40 plus years and that is the travel business. I have a home-based agency, EnJoy Travel, and no intention to retire anytime soon. It affords me the time to work, play and watch the grandchildren.
Marcy Kafer Waldauer, college professor
Marc and I have three sons. The youngest, Alex, is married to Amanda Birkett (5 years now) and they live in Syracuse (Yippee!!). He is an engineer at Anaren Microwave and Amanda does HR for a large physician group (Spine and Wellness).
The middle son, Jon, has been married for 3 years to Tahneer Oksman. They live in Prospect Slope in Brooklyn. Jon is a lawyer in Manhattan and Tahneer is on the faculty at Marymount College, also in Manhattan. They have one son, Zev, now two. That makes me a Grandma and I am thrilled!!
The eldest, Steve, is on a post-doc in Zurich. He's been applying for positions all over and anyone who has pull in a university chemistry and/or physics department, we could use your help...
As to our positions: Marc closed his private law practice three years ago and is now a law clerk in Syracuse City Court. I am an adjunct in the Biology department at Onondaga Community College, where I've been teaching for something like 10 or 12 years. I also teach at Cayuga Community College (although not this semester). I mostly teach Ecology, although I also do General Bio.
Ellen Nasper, psychologist
I've retired from working for the state Department of Mental Health but I'm working lots of private practice hours, still teaching and supervising at Yale.
Joan Berzoff, college professor
As for retirement, I just don't see it. Right now I am doing a LOT of traveling with speaking gigs in Germany, Palestine, LA, Baltimore, Cleveland, Texas, NYC and with a new large grant on end of life decision making, with the end of life certificate program I still run, with a 4th edition of my textbook that I am working on, a large private practice and a full time job at Smith. I do a lot of writing and and travel and so I would rather be paid for doing what I love than not.
I have lots of flexibility and freedom in my work, a forthcoming sabbatical. We just got back from a 5-week fellowship on the Ligurian Coast in Italy, so why retire? We are applying for two more for next year...
So I will continue to brave the cold of N. England knowing I am out of here at a moment's notice.
