 1. 5 Ideas for Incorporating Community Engagement into the Office Holiday PartyMy recent post on the Reston Chamber blog Yes, Virginia ... there is a Santa; it's you, me and the rest our community, including your business!  During the holiday season, and throughout the year, we have the wonderful opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our less fortunate neighbors.  The unexpected reward is that we often benefit from helping others - an amazing concept that I've learned from Leadership Fairfax (Class of 2014!) and the Chambers' Community Engagement Committee. As you plan your holiday party, consider ways to celebrate with your employees that benefit our community.  Continue reading ...    Photo courtesy of the Washington Humane Society    2. BizBash's 2013 Holiday Party Trends  Let's just say a  Downtown Abbey brunch with flexible seating and interactive fun or a team building reception that benefits the community (see above) would be considered trendy!    3. By the Numbers: Holiday Cocktail Parties - guidance on how much food, drinks and more needed for your event, my most popular online resource!    Bonus! The 2014 Color of the Year, Black Orchid, was just announced - think fuchsia and purple and have fun!  |
| {inspiring ideas} For Your Spring Events

This fall, my events ranged from awards dinners to food fights!  At these events I tried new products, ideas I'm sharing with you for your upcoming events:

 Global Floral Centerpieces
Got a global message? For an international awards dinner, my florist created floral centerpieces that glowed with a lit globe.  Now, that's a statement!

 Digital Graffiti Wall
Ghouls just wanna have fun! My annual Boo Bash was designed with interactive fun in mind!  I rented a digital graffiti wall, which allowed guests to take a photo and embellish with stencil designs and "spray paint" before printing their souvenir.

 Easy Check-in

A few weeks ago, I led a team of 3 staff and 20 volunteers in 3 registration areas at the Ronald Reagan Building to quickly check-in 1500 guests in less than 2 hours.  My secret weapon?  Social Tables, an online registration application.  Typically, I use the app for seating large fundraising dinners but on this occasion, it rocked as registration check-in tool!
Please contact me about integrating my ideas into your upcoming events!
