Event News You Can Use
August 2013

headshotHello,

I hope you're enjoying a great summer and finding many reasons to celebrate!

I've been busy helping people celebrate.  It's my pleasure to share my work with you this month ... an adorable milestone celebration, color inspiration and food strategies!

As always, thank you for reading, commenting and forwarding to a friend ... and when you need professional event assistance, please contact me!

Sound the Alarm!
This 1st Birthday Party is on Fire!

Last weekend, I produced the most adorable milestone celebration - a "fire truck" themed 1st birthday!  I took my clients' ideas and added my own creative touches to develop a modern celebration with playful elements ... like these centerpieces (made with existing toys, as well as a few new ones) and the super cute personalized plastic kids' cups!

Orange Is the New Black!

orange you glad its summer Orange is a happy color, wouldn't you agree?!

As you plan your last summer party, consider orange ... foods, drinks and decorations.

Earlier this month, I shared a few inspiring ideas in this DC Ladies' blog post, including a recipe for my favorite Orange Iced Tea.  Ideas are from Cool Birthday Party, an outdoor summer movie celebration.

Hosting Guests with Dietary Restrictions

Dietary restrictions Have you ever been surprised by a dinner guest who quietly mentions to the server that she can't eat onions, mushrooms or garlic ... or discovered that a new co-worker is vegetarian when he politely refuses a hamburger at the annual company BBQ?  Both scenarios are uncomfortable.  Guests neither want to call attention to their dietary restrictions nor be a burden yet hostesses want to make sure guests are comfortable and safe.  What can you do?

This month on I Am Modern magazine, I share several strategies that industry pros use to handle guests' food allergies and dietary restrictions when hosting parties.

Many thanks to Brianna Alcorn of Windows Catering and Emily Murphy of Emily's Teas for contributing  to my article!
