Ruthie's 50th Birthday by the Pool
 When you combine crisp white linens, ice blue water glasses, periwinkle napkins and hot pink seat cushions with an eclectic, colorful mix of peonies, hydrangea, delphinium, tulips and calla lilies, you get a beautiful set up ... especially if the event space is a gorgeous backyard with an inviting pool ... even in the rain!  Last week, I decorated this lovely milestone celebration for one of my favorite clients! Even with a Plan B, we were challenged by the iffy-weather and ultimately, decided to proceed with Plan C ... leveraging existing seating under umbrellas and rearranging other rental tables under the pool house and deck. We both agreed Plan C was perfect ... and one guest even exclaimed about the decor "It's so Ruthie!" See more photos here. posh in a pinch Summer Entertaining Ideas
Last week, I had the pleasure of presenting to the Falls Church MOMS Club! I shared a lot of clever ideas for taking their parties from 'plain to posh.' They captured my ideas in their blog; please, check it out.
 To give you an idea, this is my my new, favorite idea:
A clear bud vase (juice glass or votive) covered with a balloon!
I love the splash of color!!
One additional idea that's always posh is to hire someone to watch children at parties. Too often parents are distracted when socializing and left unattended, children get hurt. Many thanks to Lisa of Nannytainers Connect for caring and sharing!
