Capital Award - Best Sponsored Event Team 2

Why are these people smiling?  They just won the coveted

Capital Award for Best Sponsored Event Team by the

Greater Washington DC chapter of the International Special Event Society [ISES DC]! That's me in the center and this is my first industry award. [Pinch me!]

In other 'eventful'  news - spring has sprung and events are blooming, providing me with many, many strategies, resources and inspiring ideas to share with you this month.

As always, I wish you many reasons to celebrate ... and when you need professional event assistance, please contact me!

{event award} Best Sponsored Event Team

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you collaborate with creative and talented special event professionals!  Last year, I recruited 14 volunteers and 30 sponsors to help me co-produce a fundraising event at the USA Today/Gannett Headquarters in McLean, VA for very discerning guests ... our special event colleagues.  The result was fabulous ... and now award-winning!  Check it out for yourself ...

The list is not complete.  What app would you add?

{event design} Building Lego Fun

Have you ever been challenged to create an event where the theme was too new or non-existent?  It forces you be uber-creative!

Building Lego Fun - cake pops My 8yo daughter asked for a Lego Friends birthday party.  Whereas Legos have been around since the '70s, the girls collection is fairly new.  This blog post describes how I solved the problem with lots of color, innovative materials and a few existing items and this  gallery shows more inspiring photos.

My daughter also asked for a Star Wars Glam (yes, glam) birthday party two years ago.  I love creative challenges.  What creative challenge may I help you with?!

Daniel Pink book cover Have you read Daniel Pink's new book "To Sell is Human?" If yes, then you might enjoy how I applied his ABC's of non-selling (attunement, buoyancy and clarity) to producing events in this blog post.
{pinned by posh!} Graduation Parties

posh productions - Hokie Luau Graduating high school or college is a big milestone!  Over the years, I've had the pleasure of producing fabulous graduation parties on behalf of my clients - like this Hokie Luau, as well as a Crimson Tide pool party and an Office Space BBQ.  If you're hosting a grad party soon, I invite you to check out my 'celebrate graduation' board on Pinterest - and then, contact me to plan it!
