Grant of $100,000 Available to Clinical Investigator
SVS members are eligible to apply for a $100,000 award through the
SVS® Foundation to develop a grant application for a high-impact multicenter clinical study in the treatment and/or prevention of vascular diseases. The Multicenter Clinical Studies Planning Grant has been established to help investigators create competitive applications for external funding (e.g. NIH) of full-scale multicenter clinical studies. This funding is intended to support the development of key preliminary data and study resources. Letters of intent are due by Oct. 1.

Action on SGR Reform
The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee is scheduled to mark-up (review) a Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) Reform bill next week, which would establish a quality-based payment system. Along with the Medicare Physician Payment Plan that was created last year, the SVS Health Policy Committee has answered three additional sets of questions and SVS staff has met with members/staff of the subcommittee on members concerns. It has been emphasized that there needs to be a five year period of payment stability before another payment system is established. Once the committee has reviewed the bill, which is still in draft form, a letter will be available on the SVS website for  members to contact their Congressional members about this legislation.
July 22 Deadline: Call for SVS Committee Volunteers
If you are interested in serving on an SVS Committee, please complete the short application by Monday, July 22.

Update Your Contact Information
SVS makes every effort to keep its members informed with medical news, government information, and the latest SVS benefits and activities. While communication is primarily by email, correct contact information is kept on file to ensure members receive all SVS communications and the 'Find a Vascular Specialist' feature on VascularWeb.org is accurate. (This benefit helps SVS members market their practice to site visitors when they search for a vascular specialist.) With the redesigned VascularWeb.org, members are now able to directly update their membership profile. Please revise this profile when your contact information changes. For questions, email membership@vascularsociety.org.
