Sanitizers
Sanitizing your brew equipment is the final line of defense for your home-brew. Sanitizing kills living organisms which could potentially harm your beer. Sanitizers come in handy, but don't forget - you can't sanitize equipment that you haven't cleaned yet!
Strange Brew Sanitizers:
Iodophor - A concentrated liquid sanitizer for glasses, dishes and utensils. Recommended as the third stage of sainitizing, after the washing solution first stage and the plain water rinse second stage.
Star San - Star San is a self-foaming acid sanitizer. A blend of phosphoric acid and dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid. Can be used as a no-rinse sanitizer if used under 300 ppm. 1 Ounce per 5 Gallons = 300 ppm, and can be used in a spray bottle!
Sani Clean - a low foaming acid anionic final rinse, designed to be no-rinse if used under 200 ppm. In use by pro brewers for years as a low-foaming alternative to products such as Star San, this final rinse creates an acid state in your equipment making for a sanitary environment for brewing.
