Music at St. Peter's is the topic of the Summer Forum on Sunday, August 7 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. This Sunday Ben Outen and Kay Johnson will talk about the history and mission of The Choir School at St. Peter's and how it, The St. Peter's Choir, The Evensong Choir, and the Center City Concerts series fit together to enrich our worship life and our reach "beyond the fence" to the greater Charlotte community.

Cultivating Simplicity, August 14, 21, and 28. Too much stuff? Too little time? Join the Reverend Joslyn Ogden Schaefer as she leads a three-week series on cultivating simplicity in your life so that you can focus on the things that matter most. This course will offer brief readings, opportunities for reflection and sharing, and a supportive environment to begin to make small changes toward simplicity in mind, body, and spirit. 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

Confirmation Class Series, August 14-September 25. In preparation for the Bishop's Visitation to St. Peter's on Sunday, October 2, "Becoming Episcopalian" will be led by the Reverend Ollie V. Rencher, Rector, and lay leaders on Sundays, August 14 through September 25 (excluding Labor Day weekend), 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Town Choir Room. Adult members and non-members who are not confirmed Episcopalians, those who wish to be received into the Episcopal Church from another Christian tradition, or those who wish to reaffirm their faith as Episcopalians are encouraged to attend this series. For more information or to register, contact the Reverend Joslyn Schaefer, Associate Rector, (jschaefer@st-peters.org or 704-749-6150). The registration deadline is Monday, August 8.

St. Peter's Choir Fundraiser for England 2017 Tour. The St. Peter's Choir is going to England and been accepted as the resident choir at St. Alban's Cathedral in St. Alban's, England. The fundraising goal is to make it financially feasible for any chorister to have this experience. The first fundraiser is a BBQ lunch on Sunday, August 21. After the 10:45 a.m. liturgy, choir members will sell $8.00 barbecue lunches for parishioners to dine-in the Parish Hall or take out. This will be the first-of-its-kind pilgrimage for our exceptional parish choir, which sings nearly every Sunday throughout the calendar year and for many feast days and special occasions. Stay tuned for more information about this fundraiser and the England 2017 tour.

Young Adult First Sunday Brunch: Our inaugural "First Sunday Brunch" for young adults (20s, 30s, and beyond) will be at 5Church (127 N.
