Holy Week at St. Peter's
 
St. Peter's offers many opportunities for us to experience the significance of Holy Week. You may want to mark your calendars for any of these special activities:
  • Palm and Passion Sunday, March 20 - 9:30-10:30 a.m. Conversation in the Parish House Lobby; and Holy Eucharist at 8:00 a.m., 10:45 a.m.* and 5:00 p.m. 
  • Holy Monday, March 21 - Noon Center City Concert: Lake Norman Choral Artists with N.C. Baroque Orchestra Chamber Players; and at 6:00 p.m. Kerygma Bible Study in the Library
  • Holy Tuesday, March 22 - Holy Eucharist Noon -1:00 p.m.
  • Holy Wednesday, March 23 - Holy Conversation, beginning with 8:00 a.m. Morning Prayer in the Chapel and moving into the Parlor about 8:30 a.m. for clergy-led scripture reflection
  • Maundy Thursday, March 24 - Holy Eucharist*, 7:00 p.m.
  • Good Friday, March 25 - Liturgy with Music, Meditations, and Silence, Noon-3:00 p.m.; at 4:00 p.m., Stations of the Cross for Children and Adults
  • Holy Saturday, March 26 - The Great Vigil of Easter*, 7:00 p.m.
  • Easter Day, March 27 - Holy Eucharist, 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.*, 5:00 p.m.
*Please note services that will make use of incense to enhance the experience. Those with allergies or other sensitivities may want to plan to participate in alternate services.

Eastertide Parish Book Study: Between the World and Me by Ta-Nahesi Coates, a 2015 McArthur Foundation Fellow and national correspondent for The Atlantic magazine, has contributed to constructive engagement and dialogue on topics such as systemic racism, inequality and the persistence of racial injustice.

Youth Car Wash Fundraiser: Watch for St. Peter's youth in the Parish House lobby and at the North Tryon Street entrance to the church this Sunday. They will have Auto Bell Car Wash tickets for $16 to support youth activities.

Children's Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Youth Journey to Adulthood: Weekly offerings are available for children and youth, infants through high school, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at various places throughout the Parish House.

Evensong: The Mastersingers at St. Peter's will sing during the 5:00 p.m. Evensong service on Sunday, March 13.

 

St. Patrick's Day Fellowship: Join others from St. Peter's when we gather on the lawn for the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 19. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
