Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI) members are invited to participate in the 8th Central European Congress on Food 2016 - Food Science for Well-being
(CEFood 2016) which will be held 23-26 May 2016 on the premises of the National University of Food Technologies in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The CEFood 2016 Congress provides a forum for leading European specialists from every branch of food production to gather together and generate a unique, integrated approach to such critical issues as food security, nanotechnology, energy and resource savings, environmental impacts and sustainability. The CEFood Congress roundtable discussions and plenary meetings will provide participants with an ample opportunity to exchange ideas, establish contacts, and elaborate novel approaches to address modern challenges along the whole food chain. 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND 
All interested scientists, professionals, companies, governmental officials, professional associations, consultants and individuals working in the fields of food production, food processing, food quality and safety, nutrition, hygienic engineering and design, innovative technologies and new trends in food safety, from Europe and all around the world, are invited to attend this event.
 
A TIMELY AND TOPICAL PROGRAM
CEFood 2016 will feature oral and poster presentations by leading international scientists and experts. Unlike previous CEFood forums, which focused only on food science and technology, the 2016 Congress will address broader issues that are inherently connected with and impact the safety and sustainability of food production, energy- and resource consumption, and economics, marketing and logistics aspects of the whole food chain. Topics include:

  • Food safety and technology development and systems
  • EU legislation on food safety
  • Global harmonization of food safety regulations
  • European methods for detection/monitoring of toxic substances
  • Hygienic design of food equipment and systems
  • Energy systems for the food chain, including waste recycling
  • Natural bioactive compounds, functional and national food products
  • Packing, storing and processing: systems and innovative materials
  • Modern challenges and competitiveness affecting food security and food enterprise efficiency

GHI ACTIVITIES
Attendees are encouraged to make plans to attend the Global Harmonization Initiative and European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) roundtable discussion on 24 May from 12:00-13:00.

GHI will also hold an Ambassador Programme Meeting at the CEFood 2016 Congress, and a notice of the date and time will be sent to all GHI Ambassadors via email.
