We welcome participation by all of those in the scientific community who are interested in working together to achieve consensus on the science of food regulations and legislation to ensure the global availability of safe and wholesome food products for all consumers. GHI is pleased to invite you a General Information Meeting that will be held during the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting. The meeting is open to members and non-members of GHI who would like to learn more about recent activities and accomplishments of the organization.  

 

Please join GHI Vice President Larry Keener and GHI Communications Director Julie Larson Bricher on Sunday, 22 June from 12.00 - 2:00 pm in Room 255 at the Morial Convention Center. The meeting will cover the history and mission of GHI, membership news, and updates on GHI's Ambassador Programme, Working Groups, and publications. If you are attending the IFT meeting in New Orleans, please do not miss the opportunity to participate.

IUFoST 2014 WORLD CONGRESS

GHI is pleased to announce that it will hold a General Information Meeting at the International Union of Food Science and Technology's (IUFoST) annual congress. Stay tuned for time, location and agenda details. GHI members who would like to contribute topics for discussion, please contact GHI Secretariat Irena Soljic.  

 

The IUFoST 2014 will focus on advances in food science and technology; insights into key industry drivers such as: food safety, food policies and market regulations, trends in food processing, consumer behavior, sustainability, and challenges facing the industry today. GHI President Huub Lelieveld, in collaboration with GHI Food Chemical Safety Working Group chair Jaap Hanekamp, will present a keynote address, titled "Harmonization of food regulations: Differences in regulations result in needless destruction of safe food and hampers food trade."
