If you are looking for a new family experience this summer, then you will not want to miss being a part of the first ever, Southpoint Music Fest that will take place Sunday, June 26!  This entertaining event will include music, food and fun the whole family can enjoy!  It will take place right in the hills where Elements Restaurant is located.  The festivities will take place from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM.  This is sure to be a great time to relax and have fun with family, friends and neighbors!

In years past, Element's owners, Kurt and Diane Wolfe had friends and family out to this property to enjoy the fresh outdoors during the summer.  They want to bring back this tradition and include anyone who would like to leave the fast pace of life and enjoy an afternoon of good music, food and fun.

Family entertainment will begin at 12:00 PM with a DJ from the area. At 12:30 PM a local duo will take the stage; 1:30 - 2:30 PM enjoy the sounds of Radio Head; and the contemporary sounds of the group, "The Four Letter Words" will take the stage at 3:00 PM.  All the musical acts will provide a wide range of sounds from folk, traditional country  and modern songs.

Kurt, the chef at Elements, will prepare a delicious menu, sure to include some of your favorites!  Water, soda, beer and wine will also be available.  All concessions will be available at an additional cost; no outside food and beverage will be allowed.   The kids will have plenty to do with kites, 9 holes of golf, yard games and lots of room to run!

*Children's activities may vary based on availability and weather.

Beginning in May, staff members of the American Legion will drive around the businesses to see who is flying the American Flag. Each month we will award a certificate and recognition to the business. The only rules are, you must be a Richmond area business and have your flag flying or properly displayed outside for the public to view. If you need to purchase a flag or have questions on how to properly fly or display your flag, call the post at (816)-776-8056 between 8 - 10 am M-F or leave a message. We are hoping to encourage all local businesses to get onboard and SHOW YOUR COLORS by flying our flag in and around our community. We will also watch for flags that nee to be replaced because they are worn, faded or torn. The American Legion will be glad to properly dispose of any unserviceable flags as a service to the community. Share this for everyone to see. Thank you.
