The Farris Theatre

 Nathan McEuen is appearing at The Farris Theatre in support of his newest album, Side by Side.
  He's set to appear Friday, March 25, at the historic venue. He's bringing with him fellow singer/songwriter Erik Stucky.
  Nathan's other recent work includes For All The Good: The McEuen Sessions (2012) with father, John McEuen (founding member Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), and brother Jonathan McEuen.
  Nathan appeared with his father at the first show in the first ever Farris Concert Series, back in 2009.
  Nathan has played with, worked with or opened for some of the biggest names in pop, country and Americana, including  David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jim Messina, Dave Mason, Chris Hillman, Dwight Yoakam, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Lyle Lovett, Avett Brothers, Leon Russell, Steve Martin, John Oates, Vassar Clements, Kevin Nealon, Willie Nelson, John Denver, David Grisman, Bob Schneider, Sara Watkins, John Jorgenson, Brett Dennen, Crosby Loggins, Kenny Loggins - just to name a few!
  Accomplished songwriter, dazzling instrumentalist and captivating performer, Nathan's appearance at The Farris will be a musical adventure.
  The concert begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Reserved seat tickets are available in advance for $12 by contacting the theater at www.farristheatre.com, by calling (816) 776-6684 or by stopping at the box office at 301 West Main, Richmond. Tickets at the door will be $15.

Ray County K9 Committee is EXCITED to announce our 2nd purchase of a K9 Dog for our Community.CITY OF RICHMOND'S New K9 Officer, Vengeance is out and in our community. Her Handler is Amy Sisson with City of Richmond Police Department.  We are excited to announce both K9 officer and Handler are out Protecting and Serving our community.We currently owe $4000.00 to Iron Heart Performance Dogs in Pomona, KS, to complete the purchase of Vengeance.  Other expenses the committee incurs in the year are Veterinarian bills, Fleas & Tick treatments and food for both K9 Deputy Dee and K9 Officer Vengeance. Both K9 Dogs help with locating unlawful drugs in our community as well as tracking services. You never know when a loved one may need to be located. Both K9 Dogs HELP in Protecting and Serving OUR COMMUNITY.We ask to please donate now; your DONATION will help your community with our K9 Dogs, which are officers in OUR community.  Your donation is appreciated. Any amount will be appreciated; our GOAL now is to pay the $4000 that is Due.

Every Sunday from 6:30pm to 8pm at their location 606 South Camden St. in Richmond.


Every Wednesday after school (even on early release days)  there is a FREE after school program until 5:30pm for grades K-6th.  


Missouri Valley Community Action Agency (MVCAA) is hosting its first Cooed Softball Tournament Fundraiser.  Twenty teams will join our staff at the Concordia Parks and Recreation Complex on May 14th to participate in a one day tournament and home run derby while "Knocking Poverty Out of the Park".  What a wonderful event for a wonderful cause.  Proceeds from this event will help customers of MVCAA.
MVCAA is invested in the communities and families in Carroll, Chariton, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, Ray and Saline counties.  We have programs that assist people in finding jobs, cut home and energy costs, gain access to local resources, support our Veteran families and make the first steps count through early childhood education.

WELCOME AREA VIETNAM VETS

Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter is co-hosting, along with the Ray County Historical Society, an open house to be held at the Ray County Museum on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and is intended to honor veterans of the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War Room at the museum will be open and refreshments will be served.

Bingo Night
at the Ray County Memorial Veteran's Building.  
The doors will open at 4pm for the meal and games will start at 6pm.  It only costs $20 to play all evening.
