Hamptons Happy Hour
The happy hour is in NYC. The house is in the Hamptons. Some of my friends seemed confused by the name of the event...I guess brains aren't everything :)

I considered skipping this week, but the phone keeps ringing with new people who want to join us this summer.

 

So, we're going to get everyone together again this Thursday: all the potential newbies as well as those already in the house.

 

As you may have noticed, I am pretty set on taking the time to meet everyone BEFORE they are invited to visit the house. Can you believe other house managers don't meet everyone and they don't even let their housemates meet each other. Isn't that crazy? How are you going to know you have a good group and that everyone is going to get along if they don't get a chance to hang out before the summer? 

 

Now you know the secret to the success of our house. Meet everyone. Let everyone meet each other and be VERY careful to make sure they are a good fit for the house. 

 

Secret's out. But that's okay. I doubt anyone else is crazy enough or cares as much as I do to host all these happy hours and spend like a 1000 hours on the phone interviewing people :)
