Dear Clients...
September is upon us and our 10 year anniversary is here! I can't really fathom where those 10 years went. I remember walking into the vacant space at 44 E. Main, Suite 102 in July of 2003. The place was disheveled from the last tenants, but it was filled with summer light and scads of possibility. From that day I knew there would be a Pilates Center in Champaign. My vision that day was to create a space where teachers could grow and blossom and learn from each other and from clients. To create a space where clients would come and work and leave feeling changed and feel better for that change. A place where everyone felt safe and good and a place that will be there for a good long time.
The vision has become a reality and I am pleased that you all have been part of it. My gratitude is to my teachers who also share this vision, and to the Champaign community who has welcomed us into their sphere of life. And of course, to Romana who taught me the work of Pilates.
On a sadder note, as most of you may know, Romana passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90 on Friday, August 30th. Her passing makes this celebration all the more poignant. If not for her, there would be no Dulak Pilates Center. While I am deeply saddened by her loss, I am also deeply committed to continuing the work and ever more dedicated to train the next generation of teachers....those very ones that work in the studio. It is the only thing I can think of to do to honor Romana.
Please come and celebrate with us on September 12th. Lift a glass of Romana's favorite champagne and let us toast to her memory and to the work that we carry on!
Happy Fall,
Janice
