A Note From Janice
Hi everyone!
I am having a wonderful summer and hope you are too! I continue to study dressage with Jochen Hippenstiel and Natural Horsemanship with Pete Rodda. Each of these excellent teachers are propelling me on my quest for the ultimate partnership with my horse. That elusive place where two beings energies meet to create something more. I have had that experience many times on the dance stage and know how much more special that will be with my horses. I continue to learn about how the body affects the horse through my teaching in Pilates. In the beginning, it is learning muscles and knowing which ones to use and which ones to hold in check. Later, it is understanding how the muscles hold the bones in the body for a better skeletal alignment. When the skeleton is aligned, the posture becomes better for more efficient movement. When this happens (after much hard work!) the body is then able to channel energy through it without hitting blocks. When you can channel energy through your body, you have the ability to communicate more clearly with your horse. This process is rather indescribable. How can I explain what it feels like to be on stage and channel energy through your body to the back row of the second balcony? It is an experience that is incredible, you become one with the moment, the movement, the audience. It is a timeless moment and you are there, in the present. To give my students this feeling is what I am passionate about. Come study with me and find out what more you can offer your horse! Best, Janice

Summer Riding
Janice and Rubaiyat started the summer with a bang! They showed at Silverwood Dressage Shows in Wisconsin in early June and earned their 2nd Second Level score towards their USDF Bronze medal!
The USDF Bronze medal requires a rider to earn two scores of 60% and above at First level, two at Second and two at Third. Equipped with First Level scores from Ruby's mom, India, last year Janice tried her hand at Second Level Test 1 and earned a 62%. Now a year later, she and Ruby scored a 61% at Second Level Test 3. Next stop...Third level! But you might see her and Ruby picking up some showing experience at schooling shows later this summer.

Teaching & Travel
Janice is active in the Dulak Pilates Center this summer where she is busy teaching riders and clients alike, helping everyone to become more organized in their bodies for anything they would like to do better! She is also teaching at her farm for those who are wanting a more in depth training on their horse.
With a couple of out of town trips to Wyoming and Colorado, she is planning to finish up the summer with some training at Jochen Hippenstiel's barn to confirm flying changes.
