novenaHoly Week Prayer

Yesterday, the Carondelet students, faculty and staff gathered in prayer and watched a student  re-enactment of the stations of the cross.  These 14 stations chronicled the final moments in the life of Jesus and included his "thoughts" along with a student reflection and prayer for each station.

Wishing you and your family a safe and blessed Easter.  We look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday, April 8.

At the breaking of the Easter dawn
may the Risen Savior bless your home
with grace and peace from above,
with joy and laughter, and with love
And when night is nigh, and day is done
Make He keep you safe from all harm.

fontbonneWhat is Success?

2013 Fontbonne Forum! Over 40 students spent the last 6 months preparing for last week's Fontbonne forum and attempting to define "What is Success?". What is success for you? Is it money, fame, grades, etc.? Regardless of your definition, last week's forum was a SUCCESS! Excellent work ladies, you make us proud!

What is a Fontbonne Forum?
The Fontbonne Forum is an annual special interest forum that engages the entire school community in a multidisciplinary/multimedia dialogue.  This forum is unique in that, while students work closely with a small faculty team, the execution of the day is entirely in their hands.

Why "Fontbonne"?
The Fontbonne Forum honors the memory and tradition of Mother St. John Fontbonne, re-foundress of the SIsters of St. Joseph who had been suppressed and disbanded during the French Revolution. Mother St. John creatively integrated her vowed commitment as a Catholic woman religious with her political and cultural values as a citizen in the emerging French democracy of the early nineteenth century.  She effected practical, far-reaching change, providing a creative model of how church and state need one another in order to promote a more just, wise and loving society.
