Novena to St. Joseph
In the Catholic Church, a novena is a devotion consisting of prayers said on nine successive days, asking to obtain a special petition.
In Sicily in the 17th century, the custom had sprung up among religious communities preparing for the feast of their founder with a novena of Masses. So as we prepare to celebrate St. Joseph, our patron saint, on March 19, we will pray together on nine school days, a prayer novena in honor of St. Joseph. We are invited to reflect on a special intention for ourselves, our family or anyone in need and entrust that to St. Joseph during our novena. (You can find the daily novena on the front page of our website.) Prayer for Tuesday, March 12:
O God, throughout his life St. Joseph was a sturdy shelter.May he support us in alleviating poverty and war, caring for the homeless on our streets, and people exiled from their homeland.St. Joseph, pray for us. God is my light.

CHS/DLS Theatre Arts Company presents "As You Wish"
"Twoo wuv"...hem, "true love" is something to which we all aspire. Who would not search to the ends of the earth for such a relationship? Come join us for the fairy-tale to end all fairy-tales, the love between beautiful Buttercup and handsome Westley. Of course, much like most relationships, theirs has several obstacles: an egotistical Prince Humperdinck, a Fire Swamp, screaming eels, the evil Count Rugen, a duel almost to the death. Do not give up hope, the couple also has the strongest of friends among Fezzik the Giant and Inigo the sword fighter. We would love to share the story with you. Would you like to hear it? As you wish.... Friday, March 15 @ 7 p.m. Saturday March 16 @ 7 p.m. Sunday, March 17 @ 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21 @ 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 @ 7 p.m. Adults $10 Students $5 (for sale at the DLS Bookstore) Brother Celestine Theatre De La Salle High School

Art Students visit San Francisco
Painting and drawing students from Carondelet went on a field trip to the DeYoung museum in San Francisco last Friday to view the exhibit: Girl with the Pearl Earring. After studying the Dutch Golden Era, they were excited to finally see the original work of the Dutch masters. It was a beautiful day. Thanks to all the parent chaperones who helped make this possible by joining us on the trip.

The Carondelet Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is an essential fundraising initiative that supplements tuition revenue. Each year the entire Carondelet community of parents, alumnae, parents of graduates and friends are asked to participate through making a gift to the Annual Fund. These donations-along with active volunteerism, mutual collaboration, community building, and prayer-sustain Carondelet.
Participation is all it takes! There is strength in numbers, and gifts add up quickly when everyone contributes. Every dollar from every donor really does make a difference.
Gifts are used for: academic and campus ministry programs, faculty professional development, educational technology, student tuition assistance, facilities improvement, and so much more.
If you have not yet made a donation during the current school year, we ask you to join our community of generous supporters with an Annual Fund gift.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support that helps to make Carondelet an exceptional School and enhances the educational experience of all students throughout all academic and co-curricular programs.
Your contribution will further Carondelet's mission of helping our students identify their unique talents and become alumnae of heart, faith, and courage, women whose strong values guide them to make their world a better place.
You may donate online via the School website. Feel free to call Betsy Ringrose, Associate Director of Development (925) 686-5353, ext. 181 or email bringrose@carondeleths.org with any questions.
Thank you for your generosity and support,
Betsy Ringrose Associate Director of Development
