Trashing Malaria - Lenten Project
Did you know - one child dies every minute because of malaria?
Did you know - malaria is preventable?
Did you know - YOU can help prevent malaria?
Please join us in the fight against malaria with our Lenten Project "Trashing Malaria." Not only is this a global outreach program, but we're also serving our local community at the same time.
How it works: We will coordinate and promote Community Clean-Up days during which students will clean up parks, trails, creek beds and other public areas. Local and corporate sponsors will pledge a certain dollar amount for the trash and recycling we collect. All money raised will be used to purchase life-saving bed nets for children in Africa who die from malaria-carrying mosquito bites at night. Malaria is only transmitted through female mosquitoes and that most female mosquitoes are nocturnal feeders.
If you'd like more information regarding malaria and "nothing but nets," follow this link.
Stay tuned for more information regarding our community clean up on Sunday, March 10.

The Carondelet Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is an essential fundraising initiative that supplements tuition revenue. Each year the entire Carondelet community of parents, alumnae, parents of graduates and friends are asked to participate through making a gift to the Annual Fund. These donations-along with active volunteerism, mutual collaboration, community building, and prayer-sustain Carondelet.
Participation is all it takes! There is strength in numbers, and gifts add up quickly when everyone contributes. Every dollar from every donor really does make a difference.
Gifts are used for: academic and campus ministry programs, faculty professional development, educational technology, student tuition assistance, facilities improvement, and so much more.
If you have not yet made a donation during the current school year, we ask you to join our community of generous supporters with an Annual Fund gift.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support that helps to make Carondelet an exceptional School and enhances the educational experience of all students throughout all academic and co-curricular programs.
Your contribution will further Carondelet's mission of helping our students identify their unique talents and become alumnae of heart, faith, and courage, women whose strong values guide them to make their world a better place.
You may donate online via the School website. Feel free to call Betsy Ringrose, Associate Director of Development (925) 686-5353, ext. 181 or email bringrose@carondeleths.org with any questions.
Thank you for your generosity and support,
Betsy Ringrose Associate Director of Development

Camp Royal and Camp Venture Representatives Selected
Congratulations to Megan Medeiros, Kaitlyn Pahler and Zoe Rubens who were chosen to represent Carondelet at Camp Royal this summer and to Jackie Bueno who was selected to attend Camp Venture. These young women are intelligent, articulate, imaginative and fabulous leaders who make us proud.
Camp Royal and Camp Venture are leadership camps sponsored by the Rotarians of Walnut Creek. In order to be selected these ladies had to submit an essay explaining why they would be good candidates, a resume and then go through an interview. Needless to say, they came through with flying colors!
