greeting
Cougar

Welcome from Mrs. Gleam Green, Director of Athletics

The Athletic Department is committed to teaching sportsmanship, discipline, responsibility, respect for self and others, time-management, team work, and other life skills through athletic participation.

The Department oversees the 15 Varsity, 13 Junior Varsity, 2 Frosh-Soph and 3 Freshmen teams that are currently offered here at Carondelet.

The athletic program is conducted as an integral component of the high school curriculum. It is concerned with the promotion of pride and loyalty within the student body and with providing opportunities for wholesome relations between school and community.

Currently, we are wrapping up the fall season with the Cross Country, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo teams finishing off great seasons. We are also looking forward to selecting our Basketball and Soccer teams for the upcoming Winter Season. (For a complete list of teams, follow this link.)

Please visit the Athletics section of the Carondelet website to find teams, schedules, results and more!

Thank you for your support.

Go Cougars!

golfGhosts, Goblins and Fairy Tale Princesses Gathered for St. Marty's Party

Every year, Carondelet invites the students of St. Martin de Porres in Oakland and Building Blocks in Concord to come for an afternoon filled with costumes, pizza, candy, face painting, bouncy houses, carnival games (with prizes!) and dancing. This year's theme was Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory which included chocolate fountains and pillars wrapped in ribbons of candy.

Without the support of our students and you (their families), St. Marty's would never happen - THANK YOU!

(You can view more photos from St. Marty's party on our Facebook page.)

Request letters for your participation in Carondelet's Annual Fund are in the mail to all parents this week.  The Annual Fund is the chief source of philanthropic revenue for the school, supplemented by other income sources such as Visions, the Golf Tournament and foundation grants.

We ask that every family makes a gift in an amount that is appropriate to your personal circumstances.  Last year parent contributions ranged from $15 to $5,000.  Your gift, which is tax-deductible, supports the personnel, programs and facilities which educate your daughter's mind, body and spirit.

If you have any questions, please contact Director of Development Pat Larsen (686-5353 x150) or plarsen@carondeleths.org.

Visions of Christmas - Volunteers Needed:
There are still plenty of slots for you to sign up and volunteer to work during the Visions events, but in particular we are looking for the following:
  • One or two individuals to help co-chair the Tuesday tea.  We have someone in place to train so you won't be on your own!
  • Kitchen help for the Wednesday - Friday teas

You can sign-up to help in the kitchen or for any of the other jobs by following the link on the Visions webpage.  If you would like to co-chair, contact Kathleen Russell at krussel@carondeleths.org

Reservations Update:
The Friday tea is sold out so don't wait too long to make your reservation for the Tuesday - Thursday teas.  Tickets are selling fast and there is no way to know when they will reach capacity.  Also, gather your friends and get those reservation made for the best party in town - A Taste of Christmas (21 & older only)!  The Family Breakfast with Santa may be last, but should not be considered least.  Family members of all ages enjoy this magical morning capped off with the drawing for the beautiful Christmas Trees and Quilt.

Please keep in mind that Visions of Christmas is a FUNDRAISER whose purpose is to raise money to directly benefit our young women in need of tuition assistance in order to attain or continue their Carondelet education.  Serving our students through financial support is essential and reflects our dedication to our mission.  We are still in need of financial sponsorships and in-kind donations and hope you will consider making a contribution today.  Visit the Visions webpage for the online sponsorship link, downloadable forms, and gift suggestions.  We are registered at Macy's, Crate & Barrel, and Bed Bath and Beyond to make it easy for you to shop.  Log on to any of these registries using Carondelet Carondelet.

If you have any questions, please contact Kathleen Russell krussell@carondeleths.org or (925) 686-5353 x151.
