"The Scavenger Hunt To Beat All"
Now underway at Oneida Library

For adventurous family fun, the Oneida Public Library's summer programming includes "The Scavenger Hunt To Beat All," an 11-day competitive hunt starting on Monday, July 25, at 9:00 a.m. and ending with a "Judgment Day" on Thursday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the library.

After 9:00 a.m. on July 25, children with adult family members can pick up official OPL Scavenger Hunt Notebooks at the library, while the supply lasts, as well as the list of "The 21 Items of Interest." Then, armed with cameras, children and adult family members team up to hunt down as many of the 21 items of interest as they can in the Greater Oneida Area only.

Families are encouraged to try their skills in hunting down all 21 items, but according to the rules, the winners of the Scavenger Hunt will be those who earn the highest number of points from the judges for their entries of photographs and persuasive paragraphs in the official notebooks. Each item is worth up to 10 points in value, while a few offer bonus points in addition.

On August 4 at 10 a.m., family teams will submit their notebooks for evaluation by 21 judges at the OPL. Highest point scorers will win prizes. Refreshments will be served while the contestants await the judges' decisions.

For more information, stop by the Oneida Library, 220 Broad St., or call 315-363-3050.

For Elks, download and complete the Marvin M. Lewis Award application and submit it to your local Lodge for further processing.  The Lodge must vote on this application and it is submitted through the BPOE to the Grand Lodge for consideration at its upcoming Grand Lodge session.
