Leatherstocking Camp-o-ree- "Success"

This weekend we held the first Leatherstocking Council Camp-o-ree at Henderson Scout Reservation.  Over 300 Scouts, Leaders and Staff attended, along with at least 16 Executive Board Members who were up for the weekend with a troop or for the day on Saturday to run a station or work with a committee.

Everyone, I spoke with said it was a tremendously successful event!   Not only was the program outstanding, but Scouts and leaders from all over our council had the opportunity to interact with each other, making new friends and building strong bonds.

Congratulations to Camp-O-Ree Chairman, Bret Sage and Staff Advisor, John Harniman for their tireless dedication to give our Scouts and Leaders an event that they will fondly remember as we begin as a new council. More photos can be seen on the Council Facebook Page Scoutingcny

During the day on Saturday, Scouts had the opportunity to vote for the new Leatherstocking Council shoulder patch. The new Council Shoulder Patch has been ordered and should be available in 6 to 8 weeks.
