Trained Youth Leaders = Better Troop and Crew Program

One easy way to improve your Troop/Crew Program is by having your Youth Leaders Trained. Having trained youth leaders improves unit program and improves program leads to better retention and more youth in the program.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the top tier training course offered for Boy Scout and Venturing Youth.

NYLT is a two weekend outdoor experience for current and future troop and crew leaders utilizing the patrol (team) method. It presents leadership skills in multiple formats providing the opportunity for participants to live and practice these leadership skills. Virtually all of the training is conducted by the youth staff.

This year's course will be held at Camp Kingsley the weekends of June 3rd-5th and June 10th - 12th . The flyer for this training can be found below. The cost of the training is $200.00. Camperships are available, just use the Operation Sunshine application found here.

If you have any other questions please contact course Scoutmaster Deborah Amidon at
315-655-9862 or 315-506-2040 or by email at bsa18mom@twcny.rr.com.

Without your help we will be hard pressed to have all the projects completed in time for camp openings. Come for the weekend or come for the day; we'll take care of the food!

We will be having workdays at both Henderson Scout Reservation and Camp Kingsley.
Henderson will be the weekend of April 22-24 and Camp Kingsley will be April 29-30.

All Units are welcome to come and provide some service to their camps.

weMake sure Your New Webelos Are Registered

null

During this time of year many Webelos are crossing over to Boy Scout Troops. Many of these new Boy Scouts go unregistered because transfer forms are not filled out or the Pack assumes that the Troop takes care of it while the Troop thinks the Pack registered the boys.

Having unregistered Scouts can lead to a host of issues including delays in advancement, affects tenure and other issues.

To make sure your new Scouts are registered look over your Roster.
Roster can be found  at these locations:
  • MY.SCOUTING.ORG
  • Internet Advancement - Unit Roster
  • In your Charter Packet being handed out now
  • Your local Scout Office
