"Nice to Meet 'Cha!" Join us at our Spring 2016 Council Camporee! This year's event will be held at Henderson Scout Reservation in Maryland, NY. You'll be able to get to know your new Scouting family, Experience Camp Henderson in the spring and participate in an  awesome weekend of program.

National Youth Leadership Training

NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home Troops, Crews and other situations demanding leadership of self and others. This course will be held over two weekends in June.

Camping Promotions - Getting Scouts and Units to Camp

The spring thaw is here and that means the summer camping season is right around the corner. Is your unit signed up for camp? Do you want to find out more about the exciting opportunities at Kingsley or Henderson?  Never been to Cub Day Camp? Not sure how to where to find this kind of information?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you should schedule a camp promotion for your next meeting. We have volunteers standing by to come out to your meeting and/or help answer any of the questions you might have about the many summer camping opportunities.

Mom And Me Cub Camp

Mom & Me is a special weekend of adventure for mom and son doing the things that Scouts do: shooting sports, climbing, hiking, arts and crafts, games and much more! Mom & Me is designed for you - the parent - and your son. Friday, May 20 - Saturday, May 21 at Camp Kingsley in Ava, NY. $20.00 per person includes event patch and Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner. .

Calling All Campers

Leatherstocking Council is looking for Scouts and Scouters interested in working at our Camps over the summer.

Camp Kingsley is still looking for lifeguards, kitchen help and general program aides. Henderson is still looking for waterfront, climbing and rappelling staff, and more. For more information call the Council Office at 315-735-4437.

Just a reminder that the Camp Card Sale in the Adirondack and Powderhorn Districts ends on April 1st. All monies owed to the Council and unsold cards must be returned by April 15th. There are still Camp Cards available at the office if your unit needs more.


Council Store News:
Both Council Stores will be staying open. This mean that you will be able to visit either store to shop or conduct your Scouting business. 

The Utica Council Store is slashing prices on all remaining popcorn. See Popcorn Flier for Prices.


Order of the Arrow Officers Meet
Lodge Youth Merger Meeting
Officers of the Ga-Hon-GA Lodge and the Onteroraus Lodge met recently to begin the process of consolidating the two Lodges as part of the Council merger.  The officers selected a new name and lodge totem. If you want to be among the first to find out what they are, the new name and totem will be rolled out at the General Lodge Meeting and election to be held at the Council Camporee at Henderson Scout Reservation on May 14th.
