The New Russell Park Trail Sign
|
Six Ilion Cub Scouts from Pack #7 have earned the BSA Conservation Good Turn Award, which is the precursor for the prestigious William T. Hornaday Awards afforded in Boy Scouts for exceptional conservation minded projects. The Conservation Good Turn Award encourages and or promotes Scouts to "think globally" and "act locally", while performing conservation projects in consultation with various conservation oriented agencies. The projects performed by these Scouts include: refurbishing park entrance flower boxes, performing multiple excursions to remove litter from the park trails, planting trees to stop erosion under the supervision of the NYS DEC, and the donation of a new park trail sign, whereas the previous one had been defaced.

We are on schedule to merge our Councils in March. During this time, all volunteer tools will still be available for use on MyScouting.com. Volunteers and leaders will reatin use of MyScouting.org for advancements, training, tour permits, etc., to keep Units and Scouts moving forward. But, our back-end systems at our offices will be unavailable for the month of March. Please be patient with us as we clean and merge our data through the merger process. At some point, you may notice that MyScouting.org will display the new, merged, Council's name. Please do not be alarmed, this is a good thing! If you have any questions or concerns, click here to email Peter.
