Summer is the season that is full of the fruits of the spirit! As we enjoy these last days of summer, I pray each of these days are filled with love, joy and peace for you and your loved ones. May all your gatherings with family and loved ones, church picnics, birthdays, neighborhood barbeques, or whatever else you have planned be full of the kindness and the goodness that the Lord showers each of us with every day. 
"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness." (Galatians 5:22)
And as we ponder the words of Galatians 5:22 so many words make me think of the Spirit that lives in each of us. Especially the word 'Kindness' and how we can all shower kindness on each other. The Spirit is within each of us - and how we take our Christian teachings and live them out is how we radiate love out to the world. If we each went through each day with the intention to be kind to the people we encounter how wonderful and peaceful our impact would be on the world around us.
"... with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you," says the Lord your Redeemer. - Isaiah 54:8
Let's shower 'everlasting kindness' today. Be welcoming to others - to have it be returned makes an impact on everyone. So next time you pass someone in a supermarket, at a meeting, getting coffee, or wherever you are - say hello, smile, give them eye contact, show them true kindness and compassion as the Lord has for each one of us.
 When we act and love in a compassionate way - so to will others pass on your kindness. We know that through prayer we are offering up to the Lord the compassion we feel for each other. Whether it is a prayer for health concerns, employment, a safe journey, as we remember others the Lord hears us. As we pray for others we see each other through God's loving eyes.
And how true it would be to live the words of Mother Teresa...
" Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile."
I know you are the living expression of God's kindness through all your support and belief in the ministries of Guideposts. You are making so many happier each and every day. Love is expressed in your actions. Take a moment today to let someone know that you care, they are loved, and shower them with kindness!

A prayer for today!
Dear God, We know that your Spirit is one of love, peace, kindness and faithfulness. Fill each of us with your Spirit this day. Let all those that are in need of your healing touch be healed. All those that are struggling with the trials of life be strengthened. Those that are lost - guide them on the right path. All those are anxious fill them with your peace and grace. And all those that are grieving fill them with faith. In this moment of prayer, we are releasing all concerns into Your care, trusting your Will be done. We ask a special blessing on our work that you have set before us this day. Please fill us with your Spirit and bless us with Kindness this day in all that we do. Amen.
May the Lord give you the spirit of kindness!
