null Intro to Snow Camping! (Supplemental Training) - Feb 1, 2014
Continue your Troop's outdoor adventures year-round! This course is a must for leading Scouts in fun and safe snow camping and winter backpacking trips. Emphasis is on safety and learning tricks and techniques to maximize warmth and minimize equipment costs. Gain hands-on experience with snow camping and constructing snow shelters. Trainer's Edge (Supplemental Training) - Feb 8, 2014

Replacing the Trainer Development Conference (BSA 500) as the required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffs, it is meant to supplement Wood Badge and NYLT training with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to "train the trainer" on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media. Learn more here.

For anyone who intends to take Scout units on outings that are more than a few miles from the trail head. Emphasis is on safety, first aid, and program planning. Cost includes syllabus, snacks and meals, and training badge. Learn more here

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) - June 14-20, 2014

Registration now open. An exciting, action-packed program provides youth with leadership skills and experience they can use in their units and in other situations. Key concepts focus on what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO, and are taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership. Click here for more info.

Fleur de lis 32 px Summer Camp Staff Opportunities Now Open  
Applications are now being accepted for positions on the summer camp staffs at Camp Oljato and Cutter Scout Reservation. We're looking for motivated and confident Scouts and Venturers age 16 and older for paid staff positions and ages 14-15 for unpaid counselor-in-training positions. Contracts are for four weeks at Cutter (includes 1 week of staff training and 3 weeks of camp sessions) and seven weeks at Oljato (includes 1 week of staff training and 6 weeks of camp sessions). Staffing a summer camp builds leadership experience and a lifetime of memories. Pass this information on to anyone who might be interested in the opportunity. Download the application form here.

See the SF Bulls take on the Alaska Aces. null Scout Saturday at Hiller Aviation Museum - Sat, Jan 11 

 Scouts of all levels and adult leaders in uniform will be admitted to the Hiller Aviation Museum at no charge on Saturday, January 11th. Special presentations will be given by Scout speakers, and no reservations are necessary! More information is available here.

A drop-in event. We will have a test track set up for you to try your car before the big day! We will weigh your car and help you to get the proper weight for race day. We are stocked up with plenty of cool tools and we'll show you how to use them to create the perfect car! (tools for demo only, tools not for general use in shop). Decorate your car in our "paint shop"! Lots of cool colors to choose from! And we'll share our speed secrets. No RSVP or appointment necessary. Just come on by! Learn more here.
