Please come and help with this special clean up that is the first of 4 Tsunami-Related Clean Ups at Mussel Rock this year. We will gather data on (possible & identifiable) Tsunami Marine Debris, comparing the amount each clean up (Feb, Apr, June and Oct). As always as for monthly clean ups, come join us at Mussel Rock near Allied Waste Transfer Station on Westline Drive, from 9am to 11am; wear protective clothing for cold, sunny, windy weather. Also, please bring your own reusable gloves, buckets, grab sticks, but I will have some of these to share, if you don't bring them.
This clean up on Saturday, more volunteers will be going down to the rocks by the ocean than usual, so please wear rugged footwear.
For information about the Tsunami, please go to www.Pacificabeachcoalition.org and see the Japanese Tsuami Marine Debris poster below.
Feel free to invite friends and family. If you have any questions, please call Helen Nicely at 415 652 8460.
See you Saturday, 23 February, 9am to 11am.

News from Valentine's Day Beach Cleanup
|
The most romantic cleanup was a huge success! Pacifica Beach Coalition volunteers met at 4:00 p.m.on Valentine's Day to demonstrate our love for Esplanade Beach by picking up about 20 pounds of litter; mostly styrofoam. Four (4) blocks along Esplanade were also cleaned up. We had fun and ended the day with cookies, apple cider and great conversation. The volunteers received a special Thank You bookmark for their volunteer work this day. Please join us next month on the second Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the top of the steps to the beach.
