Thank you IBL School and Ocean Shore School for adopting Sharp Park beach and joining the cleanups last Saturday. Your results, noted below, were impressive!
Thank you Earth Heroes for continuing to support the weekly cleanups in numbers that make a real difference to the ocean! The Linda Mar cleanup is this coming Saturday, then Mussel Rock on Feb 23rd. It appears that plastic debris doesn't stop coming to our beaches, so your many hands at these cleanups saves many fish.
Two schools are scheduled to help at the Linda Mar beach cleanup, Westborough Middle School and St Francis High School. They will be looking for Tsunami debris that could appear on our beaches at anytime. |

Sharp Park cleanup was a huge success!
What is this??? In addition to the 75 pounds of nails and over 300 pounds of debris from the streets, beach, pier, and promenade area; volunteers at the Sharp Park cleanup found an interesting deposit on the beach on Saturday. It looks like eggs, but whose?
Special thanks to the 75 volunteers including 57 IBL students and many parents, Ocean Shore families, PBC members and local volunteers.
Since the surf and tide was high, IBL students took to the streets cleaning up every street from the school to the golf course, from the beach to Hwy 1.
IBL teacher, Cole Westbrook, said, "It was a fun-filled beautiful day and many students not only helped out, but were made aware of the impact that all this trash can have on their community and the ocean."
