These hour-long phone-based sessions are designed to connect family caregivers to experts with helpful information and other caregivers by providing needed emotional, educational and social support. These sessions, courtesy of the WellMed Charitable Foundation, can be accessed from anywhere via your phone: no need to get dressed up, find transportation, or get a sitter.

Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. "Medicare and Long-Term Care; Maximizing Your Benefits" with Evalyn Greb, LCSW Many individuals believe that Medicare will pay for long-term care services. In actuality Medicare pays for limited services in the long-term care arena. Join this session to learn what long-term care is, what Medicare will cover, why it is important for the caregiver to know about these services, and how to find other resources to help with long-term care needs. Thursday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. "Medicaid Estate Recovery (MERP)" with Carlotta L Vann  In this session, Participants will learn why there is a Medicaid Estate Recovery Program (MERP) in Texas, who is affected by the program, which Medicaid programs come under MERP, program exemptions, and claims payment.
