LRGV Area Community Members are Invited
To the Grand Opening of the
Caregiver SOS and Crossroads Senior Center in McAllen  The Grand Opening is set for 10 a.m. until noon on July 10, 2013. The facility was developed in partnership by the WellMed Charitable Foundation (WCF) and the Area Agency on Aging of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, The new combined McAllen Center is located at 1301 E. Fern St."This exciting new resource in the McAllen area will serve seniors age 60 and over and their family caregivers," stated Carol Zernial, Executive Director of the WellMed Charitable Foundation. "We have highly trained staff with programs proven to help family caregivers succeed, all in a compassionate environment."
"The Caregiver SOS Resource Center will host wellness programs, information on community resources, support groups, and education for those caring for a family member or friend," said Letty Sanchez, Program Manager and Caregiver Specialist. "The Senior Center will feature cardio and strength training, health education, recreational activities, and much more. All services are provided AT NO COST to the community," she added. Seniors and caregivers are cordially invited to attend the grand opening celebration and discover the new services available to them.
