Home Performance:
WaterSense by the Numbers
Each year, more plumbing products are earning the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) WaterSense label.  Take a look at these numbers from the EPA, you might want to consider upgrading some of your fixtures.

3,000 gallons of water a faucet can waste in a year if it drips

at a rate of once per second.

200 gallons of water a leaky toilet can waste in just one day.

$90 is the average annual savings a family of four could see by upgrading to a
high-efficiency toilet.  Homes built before 1992 may still have 3.5 gallon-per-flush toilets.  Upgrading to a high-efficiency toilet with 1.28 gallon-per-flush
would be a savings of over 60%.

Plumbing ToolsPlumbing Tip. . . .
The main cause for a bad smell in the basement is the floor drain has dried out and now sewer gas is venting into the house.  The floor drain in your basement is similar to the p-trap under the kitchen sink.  The     p-trap actually holds a trap seal preventing sewer gas from entering into your house.  If the trap seal dries up a little and breaks the seal, sewer gas can enter into your house.  The solution to this problem is very simple.  Pour at least two gallons of water down the drain to refill the trap seal Bio-Clean Manand prevent smelly gases from coming back up.  A preventive measure to help keep your trap seal and keep your drain open is a          Bio-Clean (www.bio-clean.com) treatment.  For additional information, call John Laughlin at (636) 225-0992 or email: johnl@ojlaughlin.com.

Thanks for the good work and service, and for the good tile work too!
~Judy and Bill S.

We appreciate the great service we always receive from your company.  Quality work and friendly service.
~Ron W.

Provided quote on the phone, arrived on time (10 minutes early), removed old water heater, provided opinions regarding installation of dual water heaters vs. single larger heater, installed new water heater, completed work in very timely manner, installer was both friendly and professional.  I received the bill a few days later in the mail with the invoice lower than what the initial estimate had been.  I paid online with a credit card, which was very straightforward.  I would definitely recommend this company!
