Dear Friends,Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:14-16: You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. His light becomes our light, and we are invited to share His light with others. We are in the midst of a blessed season. While the world gives the generally positive messages of Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays, we Christians sing out, Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the light of the world. This is one of the best seasons of the year to introduce people to Jesus Christ. In our world, there is a general openness to spiritual matters; a desire to experience faith and hope. Most people want others to know they are loved. We cannot help but continue to reflect upon the tragedy in Connecticut. As we do, so shall we continue to look for hope in this dark world. Others are searching for the hope we profess; let's point them to our Savior. It is also an easy season to introduce people to Jesus Christ by inviting them to our Christmas Eve services. While each service is slightly different, they will each draw our attention to the Savior and all He does for us. Each will offer a message of hope and an invitation to personally meet Jesus. Each will have lovely music to draw our hearts as well as our minds to worship. Please think about who you might invite to worship with us. The light of Christ shines brightly into our darkness, giving us hope, help and joy. Our light is strong, warm and bright. Our Savior is loving, merciful and eternal. While it will be a joy to share it with one another, it can be life-changing if we share it with others. Alleluia!Dave Bianchin
