1. GAIS Headliner - Special Edition Nov/Dec 2012
We are very proud to announce that the new and second edition of the GAIS Headliner is ready! This special issue focuses on the upcoming Winterfest as well as topics from each school section and will be available in electronic as well as print version. The print version will be distributed to your parent folder in front of the GAIS office as soon as they will be delivered. The electronic version of the GAIS Headliner can be found on our website. Please click here.
2. Shadow Day - Information about the procedure
As announced in our last NTM we will will be conducting a shadow day for our current 4th grade students on Friday, November 30th. Our goal is for each 4th Grade Student to gain a sense of what the environment might look like in the International Middle School (IMS). During this shadow day, our current fifth and sixth grade students will guide their group of fourth graders through their regular daily schedule. Students will have lunch and socialize in the IMS forum at 11:50am. For organizational purposes, we will divide the students in three groups and they will be distributed to the assigned Student Leaders. The leaders will guide the students and will be available to respond to all the questions that the fifth grade students may have during the day.
3. Coffee Meeting for new GAIS Families

The New Families Committee at GAIS will hold a parent coffee meeting on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 8:45am - 10:15am in the Matterhorn Room (next to staff room) to welcome new Families at GAIS. This event will provide a platform for new GAIS Community members to ask questions about our school or in general, meet other new parents and to exchange ideas. Sally Thorogood, our Elementary School Principal, will be there as well to greet the new members and answer questions. New Families are welcome to drop in at any time at this very informal meeting.
4. Looking for Host Families - starting in February 2013
We are still looking for families who are interested in hosting GAIS interns starting in February 2013. If you would like to offer your help or know someone else please write an email to Susi Lindley at slindley@gais.org.

6. Parent & Student Survey - December 4, 2012
GAIS is in a ever-changing environment. In order to get valuable information about the current situation as well as ideas for improvements and future decisions, we will conduct a Parent & Student Survey. The links and necessary materials to the survey will be either sent to you with our next NTM - News That Matters on December 4, 2012 or directly distributed on that day. Please be assured that we will keep your information and inputs confidential.
7. GAIS Food Drive - November 13 - December 13, 2012
Thank you all for participating in the GAIS Food Drive Project so far! IMS student Ian Lindley was able to collect a lot of goods already which will be used to support the Second Harvest Food Bank (http://www.shfb.org). Donations of non-perishable food items can be placed into the bins located in front of the school.
