GENERAL

1. Successful Auction Party 2012

THANK YOU ALL for participating in this years Viva Las Vegas - Auction Party 2012. Thanks to the overwhelming participation of GAIS families and as well as GAIS staff members we were able to collect a total of $84'000 (incl. online auction)! This is a fantastic amount that will be used for the further development of GAIS. A big thank you to Indra Pachtner and her whole team who made this event happen and provide an unforgettable night to all of us!

New pictures and videos (thank you Daniel Sakols) are uploaded in our GAIS Media Gallery - check it out here: http://www.gais.org/pictures-upload-events/

2. Timely pick-up and supervision

Clock With the new playground in place, we will now start to reinforce our new supervision policy as stated in the handbook and which has been signed by parents, students and teachers in the code of conduct document. In there it states:

For the safety of the children any child not supervised under these guidelines will be signed into Hort and parents will be charged the late pick up fee ($20 for the first 20 minutes and $1 for every minute thereafter).

Parents/caretakers are responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring their child is supervised after school.
  • Ensuring their child knows and can identify their caretaker.
  • Ensuring the child is within ear and sight range
  • Reinforcing behavioral expectations amongst all children by reminding all children of such expectations where appropriate.

3. Check Spam Filter

We have been told that some of our communication get sometimes caught in spam filters (especially in company spam filters). Therefore, please check your spam filter from time to time so you will not miss our news, invitations or sign-ups to events.

Afterwards, parents will be able to purchase 'Weckmaenner' (pastry shaped like a person) and hot cider. Please dress warm and bring a long lighter for the lantern and extra candles. Having a flash light on hand is also helpful, as it is dark in the school yard. Please make sure to stay with your children at all times.
