MSJ and St. Peter's Church Collect Items for Dismas House

During the season of Lent, students at Mount St. Joseph Academy teamed up with St. Peter's Parish to help collect items for the Dismas House of Rutland - a residential community for former prisoners and college students. Each Lent, St. Peter's collects items that make up "welcome home" backpacks for the residents of the Rutland Dismas House. MSJ students tried to collect more than 200 items to add to the parish drive and to help the residents at Dismas. St. Peter's is being honored by Dismas this spring for charity work on behalf of the Rutland Dismas House.

On March 14th, six MSJ students represented their school at the drama festival at Green Mountain High School in Chester. A one-man show led by senior Spencer Potter, The Santaland Diaries, actively portrays the playwright, David Sedaris' experience working as a seasonal elf at Macy's in New York City. With five backup actors providing insight into the scenes, the six-person play went very well! Everyone did a fabulous job, and the play was well-received at the festival. Congratulations to the actors and to the directors, Jessica Audette and Stephen Piwowarski!
