Principal Fortier Takes the Helm

Alum Sarah Fortier is beginning her first year as principal of the Mount, and her energy and passion for MSJ is contagious. There was a record turnout at the MSJ August open house. Principal Fortier has been invited to, and is attending, various MSJ reunions, and she has much planned in the way of community outreach. She recently sent a letter to parents that included words familiar to many MSJ alums, but that perhaps have not been mentioned in a while on Convent Avenue: "MSJ is not a building. MSJ is not a place. We are MSJ, and it is important to always remember why we are such a special community."

MSJ Chooses David Randall to Lead Its Men's Basketball Program

David Randall, who has coached at both the high school and college levels, has been named head coach of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy men's basketball team. He takes over a program that has consistently been a playoff contender and won its last state championship in 2012 in Division II. Coach Randall stated, "I am very excited to be given the opportunity to coach at a quality program like MSJ, with its long tradition of athletic success and proven track record of academic excellence." He added that his role is "to assist in the development of young men through athletics and to prepare them for life after high school basketball." View the full article here.
