Washington, DC Trip A Great Success
MSJ Juniors and Seniors spent four nights and five days touring our nation's capital where they made connections between what they have been learning in American History class and what really happens in our government now and what has happened throughout American history.. Students began the trip with a tour of the U.S. Capitol building and finished the with a tour of the Air and Space Smithsonian. Students also visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Ford's Theater, and the Basilica of the National Shrine. One evening they went on a D.J Dinner Cruise where they danced the night away on a boat touring the Potomac. The students visited all the nation's major monuments including those to Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR and MLK. It was a lot of fun had by all despite the freezing weather.

MSJ Mourns John Valente Class of 1964 (1944 - 2014)
MSJ lost a wonderful alumni and dedicated supporter when we lost John Valente. John was born in Valle, Province of Avellino, Italy. After an early education in Italy, John moved to Vermont and eventually attended MSJ. John was a person who became a great contributor to our MSJ Community in many ways, most notable by serving on the MSJ School Board, and by starting the MSJ Golf Tournament at the Proctor-Pittsford Country Club each spring, which over the years contributed significantly to the school. Please keep John's wife Jane and the rest of his family in your prayers.
