MSJ '13 Graduates

averaged $100,000 per student in college scholarships! Saint Michael's College offers MSJ graduates enrolling at the College an automatic $20,000 scholarship ($5000 per year).   
 
NEWS 

 Mount St. Joseph Academy teacher Sarah (Bride '99)
Fortier has been nominated as an "Unsung Hero" in the
St. Michael's College Teacher Recognition Program. The program honors teachers who provide their students with the academic skills and moral support necessary to be successful in post-secondary pursuits.In addition to being a Social Studies teacher at her Alma Mater since 2006, Mrs. Fortier is also Dean of Students and Girl's Soccer Coach. MSJ Principal Sandra Wilkes said "Sarah is a dedicated professional who truly cares about her stud
ents' academic success as well as their personal success. She is knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches and always has the best interests of her students at heart."

 

 

 

MSJ Winter Open House -Wednesday, January 29th from 6-8pm

 

Families of current middle and high school aged students who are interested in registering for next year and/or learning more about MSJ should attend.  MSJ will provide highlights about our academics, athletics, co-curricular activities, service opportunities, scholarship/financial assistance options, and more!

TWO raffle drawings for $500 off tuition for the 2014-15 school year will be held!

 

 

Junior High Dance - Friday, January, 31st from 7-9pm - Preregistration Required!

Join area middle school students interested in attending MSJ!  A DJ will be playing tunes at the MSJ Gym. The registration form for MSJ students can be found here and for guests here. PROJECT HELP profiled on Access News Magazine

STUDENT NEWS

Mountie nominated for service academies   

Mount Saint Joseph Academy Senior Claire Schmelzenbach has been nominated for admission to the United States Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Naval Academy and Merchant Marine Academy. She received service academy nominaton from both of Vermont's U.S. Senators, as well as Vermont's Congressman.Being nominated for a service academy is a tremendous honor,which only 27 Vermonters received this year. The nominees now wait to see if they are granted an appointment to one of the academies for which they have been nominated. Miss Schmelzenbach is the President of the MSJ  student government, and leads the MSJ social justice committee and the choir. She has consistently been an honor roll student throughout her high school career. She also plays multiple sports, including soccer, basketball, and track, and she was an integral part of this fall's very successful MSJ soccer team. Claire Schmelzenbach is the daughter of Thomas and Jeanne Schmelzenbach.  Her sister, Monica, is also a student at MSJ.  

 

 

WINS for Men's and Woman's Basketball

Men's and women varsity basketball teams start season on a roll- The Mountie women's basketball team won the Green Mountain Tournament and the MSJ tournament!  They are now 6-0 and are tied for first place in the state in their division according to the Vermont Principals' Association!  The men's team won the Granville, NY Tournament and started the year at 4-1!  David Perry ('14), a third generation Mountie, was named the tournament MVP.  The Mountie men's team is currently ranked no. 2 statewide by the VPA in their division!
