STUDENT NEWS

MSJ Art Classes Update from Sally Keefe, Teacher:

The art classes at M.S.J. are busy this year doing many wonderful things.  ArtI students are developing their skills by doing lots of drawing using pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink. Art II and Portfolio students are honing the skills they've learned and applying them to their own creative visions.  Take a minute to look at the work they've done so far displayed on the bulletin board in the  M.S.J. lobby.

A highlight so far this year was a trip to the West Rutland Art Park.  The students had a great time seeing large pieces of outdoor sculpture in various stages of completion, meeting some of the artists, and even witnessing the moving of one of the finished pieces from the studio area to its final exhibition spot on the Carris property.  It was a great experience for all.

MSJ students listen as the tour guide for the West Rutland    Art Park gives them some background on one of the artist sculptors

who was visiting and producing art for the park.
