ALUMNI AND FRIENDS
Honor Our Past - A Great Success!
This year the 5th Annual Honor Our Past event was held at the Mountain Top Inn in beautiful Chittenden, Vermont on Thursday, July 25th. We had a beautiful evening, and honored some wonderful people.
Our first honorees were the Austin Family, and our Tom Valente '94 introduced the family by recounting the many ways that Dr. David Austin, who passed away in 2004 and his wife, Pauline, have served MSJ and CKS. All of the Austin siblings attended the two schools. Bonnie Austin, J. D. '82, David Austin '87, and Father Luke Austin were in attendance, and we were missing Dr. Judy Austin Strohbehn '80 and Bridget Austin-Denhoy '83. Tom told stories about each of the Austin family, highlighting that they all have remained committed to giving back to their alma maters.
Dick Densmore '71, President of the MSJ Athletic Association, spoke about Les '50 and Barb '48 Eno and how they have been the type of alumni who have done the little things behind the scenes to make sure the schools have been successful. He added that their sons Joe '74 and Ed '75 have continued in that family tradition.
Rob McClallen '69 was happy to introduce his good friend
Mike McCormack '69, speaking about the many ways Mike has made both our schools and our Rutland community better because he believes in being involved.
We were graced with the presence of His Excellency Bishop Salvatore Matano. He congratulated the honorees, and reminded us all that what holds our communities together is our faith. Bishop Matano also expresses his support for the future of our schools.
The evening was a great success, and the honorees were extremely gracious in their acceptance of our recognition of them. Over the past four years, the Honor Our Past event has raised over $100,000 for Rutland Catholic Schools. We are blessed to have a wonderful community of supporters of our MSJ and CKS students!

Donate or Volunteer Today!
Volunteers Needed to film MSJ events for PEG-TV Wouldn't it have been great if we had filmed the Honor Our Past event last week and we could share it on PEG-TV? And there are many other MSJ events that it would be great to have filmed. We are hoping we could have 3 or 4 of our supporters (parents, alumni, or just someone looking for a fun hobby) who could help us to produce shows of MSJ events. Producing a show for PEGTV couldn't be any easier. Just call the studio at 802-747-0151 and sign up for a brief VIP (Volunteer Independent Producer) class. Once certified, you will have access to the PEG-TV studios, editing bays, and field equipment. And the only thing it costs you is your time! It really is that easy. Or give me, Kathy Bove, a call in the Development Office 802-775-0151 ext. 112 or email kbove@msjvermont.org and let me know you are interested, I would love to help set this up!!
