Tuesday

California is one of the states that has expanded Medi-Cal managed care to include long-term services and supports (MLTSS) programs such as IHSS. Register for Friday, November 30, 11 am PST webinar.

 

Wednesday

To Sequester or Not To Sequester, What Are the Options? The Congressional Research Service has compiled a report on the various proposals that have been floated to avert sequestration, including those from the White House and Congress.  

 

Thursday

Insure the Uninsured Project (ITUP's) 17th Annual Conference, "ACA: The Final Countdown," will take place Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Sacramento Convention Center.

 

Friday

The Obama administration moved forward Tuesday to implement provisions in the health care law that would make it illegal for insurance companies to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. The provisions of the Affordable Care Act also would make it easier for consumers to compare health plans and employers to promote and encourage employee wellness. A recording of the press conference will be available for 30 days by calling 800-925-3941.

 

Saturday

Health Insurance Exchanges: For Other States, it's Decision Time. For California, it's nearing time to implement.

 

Monday

Workforce Education and Training (WET) Advisory Committee (WET Advisory Committee) will be meeting on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. WET programs are funded by Proposition 63, the Mental Health Services Act. This meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity to provide public comment at the conclusion of the meeting. This link provides the street address, the webinar address, and the conference call number as well as the agenda.

Health Care Law 101 Webinars and Civil Rights Webinar in November  

The HHS Partnership Center continues to host a series of webinars for faith and community leaders. All webinars are open to the public and include a question and answer session where you can ask HHS staff any questions you may have. We also encourage you to submit questions you would like to have answered on the webinars to ACA101@hhs.gov.

 

To participate in one of the webinars, please select your preferred topic from the list below and submit the necessary information. After registering you will receive an e-mail confirmation containing information about joining the webinar. Please contact us at ACA101@hhs.gov if you have registration problems.
