Weekend worship
Sun., Jun. 22, 10 a.m.
Wondrous Love: A Celebration of the Ministry of Rev. Mary Katherine Morn

Religious
Exploration

View schedule here. Nursery care to age 3 held in the gym at Oakton Elementary
Sun., Jun. 22.

June's worship theme
is Rhythm.
"... [T]he earlier bards and minstrels knew ... the close connection between music and religion. Both have at their heart rhythm. To move with this is to be in tune, literally, with one's self and the
world; to lose it is to
get cross-grained, to
find alienation and disharmony."

- from Every Earthly Blessing: Rediscovering the Celtic Tradition by Esther de Waal

recipient for June is
Globe Aware's
Romania project
. Donations fund volunteer projects
that improve living conditions for residents of Brasov, Romania,
who live in poverty - particularly the marginalized ethnic Roma population.

Mary Katherine's farewell
Sun., Jun. 22, after the 10 a.m. worship service

Oakton Elementary School
Summer services continue at 10 a.m. Sunday at Oakton Elementary School (OES). Since this will be Mary Katherine's final service with the congregation, we expect a large crowd. Please come early if you want a seat in the auditorium and help us fill every seat in each row by moving to the middle of the rows as you arrive. Once all seats are filled, it will be standing room only.

Parking at OES is limited. Please carpool, ride your bicycle or make sure you only bring one car per family. If you have mobility issues and need parking in the OES lot, please plan to arrive early. Extra parking is available along Miller Road behind the school and in the PNC Bank lot just to the east of the school on the same side of Chain Bridge Road. If those spaces are full, we suggest using one of the other parking lots along Chain Bridge Road, making sure you don't park in front of businesses open on Sunday.

Enter the school through Door 1, near the flagpole and follow signs to the auditorium.

After the service we will celebrate Mary Katherine's ministry with a reception in the OES cafeteria. We still need a few more people to bring fruit salad, deviled eggs or small croissants, plus a few other odds and ends. Click here to sign up to bring food or beverages, or to help with setup, serving or cleanup, or contact Mary Foster.

Serve
Click here to find out about opportunities to live our values through service and advocacy within our congregation and beyond.

Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions (FACS). Wed., Jun. 25, 7 p.m., Room 3, Unity Church. FACS will continue to meet through the summer on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at Unity Church. Climate movies are scheduled for the second Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m., also at Unity Church. Projects under way include EarthCircles Rising, the voluntary carbon tax and the fall event calendar. All are welcome. Contact Eric Goplerud.

EarthCircles Rising. Weekly checklists of actions taken are easy to submit: use the interactive website or email your completed actions list to Ed Butterworth. The second option enables you to add actions not on the checklist. Make a family submission with young children or help older children submit their own checklist. We gladly accept submissions from college students and young adults who attended UUCF as youth. The data gleaned from your participation helps us plan future actions and education programs at UUCF that are meaningful to you and your family.
