Religious Exploration View schedule here. Nursery care up to age 3 held in the gym at Oakton Elementary Jun. 15 and 22.
June's worship theme is Rhythm. "... [T]he earlier bards and minstrels knew ... the close connection between music and religion. Both have at their heart rhythm. To move with this is to be in tune, literally, with one's self and the world; to lose it is to get cross-grained, to find alienation and disharmony." - from Every Earthly Blessing: Rediscovering the Celtic Tradition by Esther de Waal
|
recipient for June is Globe Aware's Romania project. Donations fund volunteer projects that improve living conditions for residents of Brasov, Romania, who live in poverty - particularly the marginalized ethnic Roma population.
|
Our next deadline is Tue., Jun. 17. Send announcements to our communications staff. All entries are edited before publication for brevity, clarity and style.

 | Oakton Elementary School |
This weekend marks UUCF's transition to a single service at 10 a.m. Sunday morning at Oakton Elementary School, located at 3000 Chain Bridge Rd., Oakton VA 22124. Parking is available at the school with overflow as needed at PNC Bank and along Miller Road behind the school. Please do not park in any nearby restaurant parking lots.
You may want to arrive early for services for the first few weeks to become familiar with the layout of the school. Please enter through Door 1, near the flagpole. The entrance is part of the recent addition to the school. The service will be held in the auditorium. Follow the signs to direct you. (See Children & Youth section for gathering locations for young people.)
This Sunday, Ministerial Intern Eve Stevens is preaching and the title of her sermon is Being in Relationship with Change. Music will be provided by Crescendo Music Education, a string octet created by a group of high school students who decided to share what they learned in their private music lessons with classmates who aren't able to take private lessons. During Together Time we'll hear more about the journey of these talented and compassionate students.
