Gathering this winter with your
UUCF neighbors
Parish Minister
Rev. Mary
Katherine Morn

My favorite reading for the new year is New Year's Day (#544 in our hymnal) by my friend and colleague the Rev. Kathleen McTigue:

The first of January is another day dawning, the sun rising as the sun always rises, the earth moving in its rhythms, with or without our calendars to name a certain day as the day of new beginning, separating the old from the new.

So it is: everything is the same, bound into its history as we ourselves are bound. Yet also we stand at a threshold, the new year something truly new, still unformed, leaving a stunning power in our hands.

What shall we do with this great gift of Time, this year? ...

I am hoping you will make at least one resolution this year - to attend one of our five Winter Gatherings, joining neighbors and friends from UUCF to share refreshments, and our experiences, hopes and dreams for UUCF.

I look forward to these gatherings to hear from you about your spiritual aspirations, personally and for our congregation. It will be a little like a check-up. (Have you scheduled your physical for this year? - that might be another good resolution.) It will also be a wonderful opportunity to discover neighbors in our congregation as the gatherings will be where you live.

I want to thank our Winter Gatherings hosts - Marsha and Ron Giusti, Candace and Harry Katz, Mary and Dave Lareau, Sarah Keely, and Liz and Eric Anderson.

You have probably already received an email invitation to the gathering in your neighborhood - but, you are welcome to attend the one that is most convenient for you. (See below for dates and times.) Child care will be available by reservation.

Please put your neighborhood gathering on the calendar today!

See you in the New Year!

Yours,

Mary Katherine
