The Dark Side of Light
 |
Parish Minister
Rev. Mary
Katherine Morn
|
Our theme for this month is "Shadows." It's one of those ideas that requires an opposite. We wouldn't have shadows without light. Or light without shadows.
Ignoring the presence of "shadows" - our weaknesses, evil or just plain short-sightedness - leads to the personal burden of perfectionism and the collective danger of ideology. Demanding a purity of thought in government, for instance, might lead to, say, a government shut-down. Demanding perfection in ourselves might create very similar conditions.
Join us for an exploration of The Dark Side of Light, Saturday at 4:30 p.m., or Sunday at 9:15 and 11:15 a.m.
See you in church, Mary Katherine
