Don't miss out!
RE teaching teams now forming
Be a part of the meaningful work we do with children every week at UUCF. Some great teaching teams are looking for that one extra person to get started with planning for the coming year. Openings are available Saturdays at 4:30 p.m., and Sundays at 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. If your children have been in RE for a while and you haven't taught recently, maybe it's time to sign up again. Remember, parents are expected to teach or volunteer in the RE program once every three years. If you need a lower-commitment role right now, we have several options:- Workshop Leaders. Our new workshop format at 11:15 a.m. needs leaders throughout the year to work with Grades 2-5. Workshop leaders lead one workshop each Sunday for one month on a specific topic (one time to prep!) and once on Saturday. We need three leaders in September. This is a great opportunity to get involved in RE on a short-term basis - only a one-month commitment. Contact Director of Religious Exploration Linnea Nelson if you're interested in this role.
- Workshop Facilitators. Facilitators assist workshop leaders throughout the year. Simply sign up to teach Grades 2-5 at 11:15 a.m. and you will be assigned to the workshop as a facilitator. No preparation need; training provided! Click here to sign up.
- RE Greeter. What's better than greeting our children and parents as they come into the Program Building? We will give you the tools to become an extraordinary greeter and as the official snack provider, the kids will love you! Sign up here.
If you have already volunteered to teach or greet-thank you! It's going to be a terrific year in RE!

"Toilet" cleans up
Goal raised to $1,035!
What started as a goal of $115 to provide clean water for one family in Africa, has now grown to $1,035 for five families. That's thanks to the success of the "Tacky Traveling Toilet," a creation of the 4s&5s Summer RE class to raise awareness of global water issues. Donations go to The Water Project.
You can pay to have this work of art placed anywhere this summer. The Toilet has already traveled to every corner of Fairfax County. Any donation will make this toilet travel. If you see it around (maybe in the Commons this weekend!), please lift the lid and donate or click here to make a donation online. Once you've donated, let Suzanne Leonard know where you'd like the toilet delivered.

We need more volunteers for July and August or the project will slow down. Please volunteer to help on Saturdays (longer and bigger work sessions) or for one of the short work sessions during the week.
