Moving Forward
Technology Improvements Beginning

Part of the Reach Campaign is improving outreach and communications through technology enhancements. This will include improved audio and video capabilities enabling us to capture services and events on video and live streaming and to connect various parts of our campus with audio and video.

The Board of Directors and Coordinating Team have begun this process by hiring a part-time Media Producer for an initial six-month consultative role to help our leaders and staff envision, design and procure the technologies we will need to move forward. He will also consult on the the staff and volunteer capabilities we will need to implement, operate and maintain these technologies long-term.

UUCF Media Producer,
Turner Bridgforth
Emmy Award-winning director Turner Bridgforth has been hired for this role. Turner has led production teams at CNN and NBC, among other posts. He brings more than 30 years of experience with video and audio technologies to his work at UUCF.

Turner will report to Music and Arts Director Mark Vogel.

Can you help out with
cash flow this summer?

This time of year, cash gets a little tight at UUCF. Those of you who schedule your contributions monthly or quarterly provide a strong regular financial base for UUCF operations.

For those who pay your pledges annually or in lump sums, please consider paying all or part of your July 2013-June 2014 pledge in July to help maintain good cash flow over the lean summer months. And, if you haven't yet completed your pledge for the fiscal year ending Jun., 30, 2013, and are able to pay the balance, doing that in July would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

"Tacky Traveling Toilet" raisies awareness of global water issues. UUCF's 4s&5s RE class has created a Tacky Traveling Toilet to raise awareness and $115 this summer to fund a year's supply of clean water for a family in Africa through The Water Project. You can pay to have this work of art placed anywhere this summer (and we mean anywhere). A neighbor's yard? UUCF office? Favorite shopping center? Any donation will make this toilet travel. If you see it around (maybe in the Commons this weekend!), please lift the lid and donate. Please email Suzanne Leonard if you want to send the toilet somewhere this summer or write a destination on the list outside the 4s&5s classroom in the Program Building.

Grow
The following programs and opportunities help us grow as individuals and as a community.

UUCF members/friends invited to Iftar dinner. Wed., Jul. 17, 8 p.m., Institute for Islamic and Turkish Studies (IITS). The IITS invites UUCF to an Iftar dinner at which their members break their fast during Ramadan. In addition to conversing with individual members, there will be a Q&A about Islamic practices and matters of faith. This is a great chance to gain a better understanding of Islam and broaden our relationships with other faith-based communities. Space is limited. To request invitations, contact Rod Paolini. Please indicate whether you'd like to carpool.
