Screening and Tracking Tool Updates
The ECHO Initiative Team appreciates hearing about your needs and assisting you in your hearing screening efforts. Recently, we were asked if it would be possible to create a fillable version of the OAE Hearing Screening Form, allowing a child's information and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) screening results to be recorded directly on the computer, so that is what we have done. As with all our materials, it is available free of charge on KidsHearing.org.
You can use this version of the OAE Screening Form by opening it with Adobe Reader (software that is already available on most computers and can be downloaded for free, if necessary). Simply type in the child's information and screening results, then save the document with a unique name. You can print a copy, if needed, and you can also open the document again to add information for
any child that requires follow-up screening.
Programs are also finding it helpful to use the OAE Screening and Diagnostic Log to track children's progress through the screening and follow-up process. It is in an Excel software format which is also available on many computers. This Log, and the accompanying instructional materials, have also been updated recently to better meet program needs. To assist you in using this Log, watch a video tutorial showing specific examples of how to enter children's OAE screening and follow-up results on the Log. Also view the video tutorial giving you an overview of all of the Log features. Detailed written instructions for using the Log are also available.
Our job is to make your job easier, so if you have further questions on how to use any of these tools, contact us!
